Taifa Stars To Camp In Brazil.

The national team of Tanzania, Taifa Stars, will travel to South America for a month’s training camp as they continue preparations for the ongoing 2008 African Nations Cup qualifiers. After winning their opening qualifier against Burkina Faso 2-1 early this month, the team is planning to camp in Brazil in February ahead of their qualifying fixture against Senegal in March. The tour will serve as boost for the team and they will play against local sides when they make the tour, which will be sponsored by a local business tycoon tycoon Mohammed Dewji. Dewji is chairman of a committee that was appointed by the Tanzania government to help raise funds geared towards the national team’s campaign for the 2008 African Nations Cup finals. Tanzania have only made one Nations Cup appearance in 1980 and failed to progress beyond the first round.
